Allison Park, PA 15101

Just writing "Allison Park, PA 15101" on an envelope has a calming effect on my heart and brings back a flood of memories, a sense of home. It will always be home, where my roots are, where my childhood was spent, where my dreams were started. My physical connections there have dwindled - my parents are no longer there, many friends have moved away, but writing it on an envelope, I remember.

  1. My parents used the Allison Park post office to send our resupply packages on our AT thru-hike, and one of my favorite memories is going up there after the hike was over to mail our thank you letters to the trail angels and meet the staff. So neat to connect the 15101 to the people.

  2. That's awesome! I remember after I came back from the Peace Corps going to meet the people at the Wildwood post office (that's where my mom mailed my packages from). She mailed pretty much one package every week or two for 2 years. They knew so much about my service. It was neat!
